Off-Grid Festival Workshops 2025

Have fun at the 2025 Off-Grid Festival and learn the art of basket coiling using beautiful hand-dyed raffia! Janet is the Creative Director at The Raffia Connection and has been teaching Art & Craft in a primary school setting for many years, as well as sharing the art of basket coiling at fibre events and markets around Melbourne.

Suitable for beginners, you will learn how to create a raffia wall-hanging using the Mariposa stitch technique.

Dates: Saturday 12 & Sunday 13 April, 2025.

Times: Choose from 11am, 1pm or 3pm. Workshops are 45 mins long - please arrive on time.

Location: The Raffia Connection Stand, Off-Grid Living Festival, Chiltern Racecourse, Racecourse Rd, Chiltern, Victoria. Workshops will be held outdoors, so please dress according to the weather.

Details: 
* There are 10 places available in each workshop.
* Children between the ages of 8 and 12 can register for a workshop, but must be accompanied by an adult who will work together with the child on one wall-hanging.
* Children aged 12 and over can register for a workshop and attend without an adult, provided they are collected immediately after the workshop.
* All materials are included in the workshop fee – including hand-dyed raffia & needle. * Additional raffia can be purchased at the festival (credit card facilities available).

Cancellation Policy:
* Payment in full in advance is required to secure a place in workshops.
* To receive a refund, cancellations must be received by 10am, Thursday 4th April. After this time, refunds are not available. Please allow up to 5 working days to receive a  refund.
* If you book a place in a workshop and do not attend or contact us beforehand, a refund is not available.
